After a long and arduous journey throughout the SlotsFighter battlefield, we finally have our winner of season 3: AwayDays! Coming into the tournament known for his footballing knowledge and YouTube presence, he managed to captivate the SlotsFighter audience and take the crown. Read on to find about his journey!
The Path to Power for AwayDays
AwayDays first found out about the tournament by watching Chipmonkz, a tournament regular who has participated in all three seasons so far. After watching his stream and his performance during the tournament, he decided to give SlotsFighter a shot. While his expertise lies mostly in the arena of football, it turned out his accumulated slots knowledge was worthwhile as well.
While the champions of the first two seasons: SpinNinja and Chloe suffered setbacks in what some proclaim is a champion’s curse, the newcomer fared much better. After battles in the early two stages, he managed to qualify straight for the semifinals, skipping the quarterfinals entirely. It is here where he faced off against SpinGranny. Of course, he also won the prize for setting the biggest win of the tournament. Out of all slots, Thunderkick’s Spectra delivered the goods with a 2555 EUR big win. A remarkable achievement that landed him some extra cash. In the semifinals, all it took was two matches for AwayDays to advance further into the finals. This is where he faced off against last season’s third-place finisher Dubbel6.
A Finals Spectacle
If the season 3 was a marathon, the finals was a triathlon, encompassing more than 10 hours of slots spinning action. While there was only a single bonus run in the entire series (in right SlotsFightin’ fashion, it was Mike Tyson’s Knockout slot), we still bore witness to 5 legendary matches. The action was spread out through 2 days. The first matchday, occurring on Friday, saw a relatively even matchup. While Dubbel6 launched a series of sonic booms in the first match, AwayDays swept him in the second. There were plenty of big wins and thrills.
The second matchday on Sunday was a true epic, featuring nearly seven hours of action. The first match was won by Dubbel6, who took it in four games. AwayDays, facing the end of his tournament life, managed to come back and win the bonus run in the fourth to set up the ultimate match. Ellis took the first two matches, with Dubbel6 grabbing the third. Ultimately, it was the Big Time Gaming round that sealed the deal, as the two bonuses from AwayDays were enough to lock up the championship.
While season 3 may be over, SlotsFighter is not going anywhere. Keep checking back for updates, exhibition matches, duels & more. Remember to follow on Twitch and YouTube and get ready for the new tournament in September!
